After-Care Instructions

Cosmetic Brows

What to expect during the healing experience:

Day 1: Brows look shiny and new and each tattoo’d line is bold.

Day 2-5: Brows look too dark and thick. They may look uneven but remember- no 2 brows are the same and the lines will calm making them look just like natural brows.

Day 5-7: Brows are flaking, and uneven- they may also seem like they are the wrong shape (give it time!)

Day 7: Brows can be wet and gently cleansed- Remember not to rub them!

Day 7-10: Tattoo may still be flaking and patchy, please be gentle with them.

Day 10-15: Tattoo has significantly faded and seems too light (Don’t worry, this is normal!)

Day 15-30: Tattoo will start to reappear slowly. If this is your first brow tattoo, it is common for pigment to have small patches where it hasnt attached to the skin. This is why we offer a complimentary retouch appointment to correct this. For colourboosts, unevenness is less likely as the brows are more acclimatized to the needle but if you feel it is needed, make sure you book a retouch in!)

How to care for your Brows during the healing period:

Healing may take up to 21 days after your initial appointment so it is crucial to follow the after-care instructions to ensure that the colour pigment latches to the skin and ensures even, perfect brows.

  • Do not wet your brow tattoo (for 7 days)
  • Avoid direct sunlight and humid environments (for at least 7 days or until flaking has ceased)
  • Avoid touching or rubbing brows (for at least 7 days or until flaking has ceased)
  • Avoid moving/wiggling brows (for 7 days)
  • No Exercise at all (for at least 7 days or until flaking has ceased)
  • Avoid make up on brows (for at least 7 days or until flaking has ceased)
  • Avoid make up on forehead (for 7 days)
  • No laser treatments (for 2 weeks after appointment)
Sometimes during the first 4 weeks skin can reject pigment or pigment can fall out due to outside factors such as water, sweat or sun. To get the most longevity out of your brows after you have completed the
healing period, keep out of direct sunlight (use factor 50), and refrain from using AHA’s on your brows. For those with oily skin, you are more likely to need to come back more frequently for a colour boost as skin oils can push out pigment sooner.

  • Avoid direct sunlight and humid environments (for at least 7 days or until flaking has ceased)
  • Avoid touching or rubbing the lips (for at least 7 days except for when applying Bethanthen cream)
